Could have been much better (Spoilers).

Firstly, it's been done before in the episode Parallel Monsters from V/H/S Viral.

Secondly it doesn't follow its own rules. At one point the female lead can't travel back to her world because the pod on the other side is broken but later she is able to send her evil husband to Hellraiser 2 world which doesn't have a pod on the other side. He just appears on a stone slab.

Lastly I didn't like the ending which reeked of Back to the Future's ending.

6 out of 10. It's a shame it didn't taken more risks and had more extreme alternate realities. It felt too much like they played it safe to avoid confusing anyone. They focused more on the family story side of it which was a bit boring considering the opportunities they could have had with different dimensions.

I took the stone slap to be this worlds version of the gateway pod. That society seemed to have pretty much zero diversity and so perhaps their different pods, office, sleeping chambers etc. all had similar look. Anyway he certainly appeared on a sort of pedestal with some purpose, so it was not just stone slap....but lucky the world seemed so cold and void of happiness, I suppose she could have sent him to some other place full of nice peps, by chance ... and then what?

Also, while I agree that the ending is a cheap shot. I do think it raise some interesting wondering: was her hubby, she sent off, actually not so bad here for example and what had happened to her real kids etc...

The female lead was able to send her evil husband back to a new/different world using her assistant's pod that he built at his place. It's the same pod she used to get back to her original world when she was trapped in evil husband's world.

Just saw this movie last night.

And yep, she used a workable pod at her assistance's home. But how convenient was that? "Hey, I have a pod at home you can use".... lol.

Decent movie but it was full of "that would never happen" moments. I would give it about a 5/10.

It definitely needed an explanation of his world and several other things also needed to be explained for this movie to work. I mean, if violence was such a major part of his world, how did Matt and Jane survive so long to begin with? Their world seemed like a ghost town, why was that? Was everyone getting killed off? We also needed to know why they were working on a pod in the alternate world? Were they doing it for the government for military reasons or what? The first thing we see when she gets to the alternate world are jets flying around. Are they in the middle of a war?

This might be nit-picking a bit but it would have explained a few things about why second world Matt was so much different than first world Matt.

And yeah, the ending definitely leaves it open for a sequel but the movie really isn't good enough for a sequel. I wouldn't watch it unless everything is somehow explained then maybe I might give it a look.
