With rare exceptions, women just aren't funny enough to carry a show like this. At present at least, their women seems to center on bitchiness and cutting everyone around them to pieces, and in not a particularly clever or novel manner. This show looks just plain mean spirited.

Bitchiness and cutting everyone is how they signal "strong, powerful woman" to the audience. Much easier than subtlety and character development.

When a woman is bitchy and cutting that signals she lacks confidence. A confident person doesn't need to resort to such conduct.
