Hollywood overestimates CG

It still isn't where it needs to be. Films like this look slightly off. It's good (visually) but just lacks something which the brain instinctively recognises as real.

That aside, it was quite a good film. Gets straight into the action and doesn't take its foot off the pedal until the end. A very self-contained story.

I thought it was a quite good film too. I liked that it stayed on task - telling the minute to minute, hour to hour operations of the ship and its escort mission. No side stories. Limited character development/human drama. That seems true to form since these crews would not have time to get to know each other. They were assigned their post and their mission. Once the story went to sea, it was non stop naval battle action. Most of the dialogue is just commands.

Visually it was a CGI adventure. It looked like the PS5 version of the game Battleship if there even is one. I got into it and it felt believable in the moment.

The article is a year and a half old, but AFAIK there is no further distribution. I'd like to see it, too.

I have it on DVD, so it for sure came out on hard-copy.
It's also on Blu-Ray, which I'd have gotten if I bought it for myself. I got it as a gift and until then, I also thought I'd never see it due to the AppleTV thing.

CG water is very hard to do, and you can tell from this film how fake it was. However, it's still a good story, so after a while you don't think of it anymore.
