I don't have much sympathy for these people

Maybe it's a failure if writing. Maybe it's my personal morality at odds with that of the religious group. These people were morons. I agree that the ATF royally screwed up and basically caused the entire situation needlessly. The religious group going along with David's celibacy rule is a joke. "I was starting to enjoy it so I stopped..." Bs. You're at least enjoying it long before you decide to pull out. These people are so effed in the head. I'd rather be homeless and alone living under a bridge then be part of this gang.

They are not a group I would have belonged to, but I have taken the time to visit the followers who still live on the property and listen to their side of their beliefs.

It is not against the law, nor worthy of death, to be a moron. Everything rests on the government and they destroyed evidence to cover their crimes.

reply

I hope all leo's involved were prosecuted but I doubt that happened. I didn't know how high the death toll was until the end credits that was a surprise. The law was beyond out of line they were downright fascist. The Davidian's were wronged but they overplayed their hand in the aftermath of the initial shootout. Their leader was a fool. The people that followed him were rubes. They could have left at any time. Had they no sense of consequences or urgency? Even though the consequences did not fit the crime, they were an overreaction from the government. If a tornado is coming do you not get to safety? They got each other killed to make a point which is just stupid. Those kids deserved better parents. The only bright side is that if David's child died and baby mama lived at least she would have a chance for a clean slate in life.

When there is a group of people who believe that the end of the world starts with a showdown with law enforcement, (which to believe is not against the law), and law enforcement knows that....What does law enforcement think is going to happen when they roll in with their big guns?

The government agencies wanted a big show to boost their future budgets, and they got a bigger show than desired from armed citizens.....And they had to cover their crimes on attacking those citizens.

"It is not against the law, nor worthy of death, to be a moron."

It should be illegal to have religions, then, because something has to give. Atheists and agnostics don't want to hear the bullshit, don't want the wars, famines, etc. And we absolutely do not accept the marrying of children. Good riddance to the ones that will not recant; dogs gotta eat, and the meat grinders are hungry for Pastorflesh.

reply

Maybe those who disagree with you could be put into some kind of camp with one way entrance, no exit, showers?

reply

Sounds like a great start!

reply

I'm an athiest, but I'm curious about your remark. Why should religions be illegal?

reply

I don't like this cult anymore than you do. My issue is that if it can happen to them, then it can happen to me. Or any group that I do happen to be a member of.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

reply

Bullshit anti-goverment conservative rhetoric.

reply

anti-government and conservative cannot go together. Try again.

reply

Oh, really? Are not Republicans for less government control?

reply

1. Republicans are not conservative
2. Anti-government is the opposite of conservative

con•serv•a•tive
adj. Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change.

Conservatives are the establishment. They are the status quo. By definition they don't want things to change. This is in direct contravention to anti-government.

During the American revolution, conservatives would have been the Redcoats or Redcoat sympathizers. Today they would be the thin blue line or they would back the blue.

reply

so you're saying there's no such thing as governmental atrocities?

reply

I'm just saying, tragedies like this one are used for propaganda to create right wing militias. The kind that take over Federal lands.

reply

it's not a tragedy, it's life. It's the government/collectivists/statists etc who are using it for propaganda to gain more power

reply

Simply because they followed some strict sexual practices, you think they deserved to die? Really? You are one sick fuck, OP.

I mean FFS, half the movies crapped out by Hollywood now days that involve anything sexual are just trying to teach us a "sex lesson" which I'm not too impressed with when I see it coming from Hollywood. But since the Branch Davidians were "religiously motivated" you think they're "fucked in the head" and it was good they died. Again, you are the sick one....

reply

Never said it was good they died.

reply

I got to agree. Its really hard to sympathize with people who are fucking morons in a cult. Especially if they are there willingly. If the ATF thing didn't happen. They could have turned out like James Town or HeavenGates. Where everyone either murdered or commit suicide. Than nobody would be saying those the poor Branch Davidians. It would be just be another stupid cult massacre.

reply

I doubt the Davidians would have killed themselves or anyone else if the ATF had just come along and grabbed Koresh alone on one of the many occasions he was outside.

The ATF and FBI just wanted a big news spectacle to make them look competent after Ruby Ridge, and because of it all those people died.

reply

They were foolish and gullible, but they also did not deserve to be massacred by the ATF and then framed in the media as a bunch of suicidal death cultists.
