Why did the change Scuttle to a female?

It didn't make sense that Scuttle was female n this version he was known as a comic
relief character in the Disney version so why did they have hm as a girl in the remake they could've stayed true the Disney version if Scuttle had been a male in this version

They thought they were being "clever" in swapping other characters as well. It went over about as well as that shitty "Lady and the Tramp" remake on Disney+.
