Why don't American war films have guts anymore?

I'd type in "balls" instead of guts but not sure if it's permitted. The violence in this was brutal, exciting, and had that rough gritty feel you don't see much anymore from Hollywood. Hacksaw Ridge and Fury are the only recent ones I can think of.

Just saw this pop up on Netflix and I like your description.

Thanks. I really dig these period action movies that South Korea put out in the late 2000s and throughout the 2010s.

I recently caught The Front Line on Tubi which might fall into that category. Well made. Still didn't hit the heights of say Saving Private Ryan but a decent movie and story.

A man prefers to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.
