Jacob's Ladder, Angel Heart and It Follows had a child.

Add Hereditary to the list. The ending was straight out of that movie.

The Empty Man was shot looooong before Hereditary! Hereditary ripped this movie off.

Also whisperings (excuse the pun) of Videodrome and The Ring with a little sliver of Alien and Friday the 13th. Maybe even a smidge of Rosemary's Baby too.

Funny, I was thinking more along the lines of Kill List, Candyman and Hereditary (maybe a touch of Phantasm too?)
Yet it didn't feel too derivative.
