Buried Alive scene spoiled Burke’s character

He was supposed to be the serious, wise old priest who has seen it all and done it all. But that buried alive scene made him appear too goofy and vulnerable. It might’ve made more sense for Irene or Frenchy to get buried alive, and then Father Burke saves them.

I dont understand. He shouldnt show weakness while he appears to be buried alive and may die a horrible slow and lonely death. Maybe he has claustrophobia and valic used a weakness. He came out pretty resilient a scene later.

Watching now.
