They had to make the wife appear smart and useful by making everyone else incompetent.

I liked how she took out the guy attempting to stab her, which was believable with her military training.

But her being the only one smart and tactful enough to figure out where the bad guys were, and being the only one to notice one of the criminals is attempting to flank the police was overboard and made me roll my eyes

I felt like everybody in this movie just had this insane amount of luck. Didn't matter if they were trained or anything like that, they always seemed to know what to do.
