Well, my take on the movie was different, but the final conclusion is pretty much the same: garbage.

But this was SUCH a disappointment, just a lot of dark lighting, Phoenix hobbling around and the occasional dialogue being mainly a mumbled mess.
To be honest I kind of gave up on it with half an hour to go (sort of half watched it till the end) and I pretty much have little idea of what had happened at the end.
I really am starting to believe that many movie critics are useless now, if they think this is good.
The only good bit for me was a bit of the music by Johnny Greenwood, especially when it started, but that was it.
Agreed! This garbage was incoherent drivel! I am halfway through with it now, and have turned it off. This is the LAST Joaquin Phoenix movie i will ever watch! All his movies are like this. Stupid filler scenes, and all action is pretty much cut out. They do these dumbass movies on a low budget. All they need is POS Joaquin, a hammer, a girl in a nighty, and an old lady. After watching the best of Alfred Hitchcock the past few weeks, and then seeing this trash, i just couldn't make it to the end.
