He gave off psychopathic vibes to me. I had trouble figuring out WTF Elio was seeing in him that was in any way attractive. Maybe Elio's drawn to guys who treat him like shit?

Lol, why would you think that?
I think he really had feelings for Elio BUT he knew from the beginning, that it would only last for a summer.
He should have talked with Elio about his leaving...he let him completely heartbroken. That was not fair of Oliver.

Was it a surprise for Elio that Oliver would be leaving? I think he held off partly because he didn't want to hurt him.

Dude, for real!! I don't even remember posting this, but I was clearly seeing something within Armie himself and mistook it at the time for being a trait of his movie character. CMBYN was the first Armie film I'd ever seen so I didn't have any baseline to judge him against--I just know I always found him creepy in it. Like I said two years ago: Psychopathic vibes!
