Is this a remake or an American adaptation? An adaptation has always made sense and seemed inevitable from the get go.

Obviously will be an "adaptation". A 100% remake would not work that well, different culture, etc.

Most adaptations didn't work well. The American Old Boy is a failure ... - as an example.

The Magnificent Seven and The Departed worked well enough.

The Departed only worked because of who was cast and how it was acted.

They're welcome to do it but I'll stick with the original. Just like Rec, Ju-on and Old boy.

That original cast was fantastic.
