Over the top melodrama at the end
I really enjoyed the movie, but couldn't help but laugh at the climatic moment with the girl and her father in slow motion. It was way too much and became unintentionally funny to me.

shareThe long goodbye was okay. Thanks to that extremely talented kid.
The dad bawling out loud like a little girl...not so much.
Really? The dad bawling his eyes out was exactly what got to me. He wasn't some Brad Pitt cool character who'd just swallow his tears, say goodbye and walk away. He lost total composure, it is exactly what a *beep* of dads would do.
shareI think people have problems with scenes like that in the movie is because the movie tries too hard to make you feel sad. It's literally screaming "THIS IS SAD PEOPLE, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO FEEL SAD, EVEN CRY!".
It's over the top because of the music, those flashbacks etc. Him just falling, with simple music etc. would've been more effective.
This makes it really forced because the movie tries so hard to make you emote, it's not subtle at all. And it seems like it played some people like a fiddle.
I agree that it's designed to make elicit an emotional response, but in spite of knowing this, I couldn't help but get a lump in my throat, probably because I was thinking of my daughter and what would happen if I was in a similar situation.
Also, the girl's acting really made that scene. It wouldn't have worked as well if she hadn't been as good as she was. Terrific performance and I'm surprised more people aren't talking about her.
Poorly Lived and Poorly Died, Poorly Buried and No One Criedshare
this is probably the only zombie related thing to have ever made me cry tbh
shareRight? I usually cry at movies but that was too clichè.
