Over the top melodrama at the end

came here to say the exact same thing, it was thoroughly enjoying the movie up until that point

would have rated it 8/10, but have to give 7/10 now

The scene got you talking about it on the forums at least so it did make an impact on you one way or another. To that end, the scene worked as to whether or not the audience was teary-eyed, indifferent, or found it hysterical.

What!? I thought it was very sad and beautiful. His very last thought was his daughter not even his ex wife/girlfriend.

Well - perhaps once you are a grown-up and have kids yourself you may see it differently.

I started watching zombie films in the mid 70's and this film is easily one of the better ones. The fact that they currently saturate popular culture now doesn't impress me - as the quality is usually very low indeed.

But this movie - is WAY better than the typical walking dead *beep* for the exact reason you are criticising it: There's barely been ANY kind of mature emotional response to a zombie bite and a main character's impending death in any film outside of Romero's work.

But - if it's funny to you that's fine - everyone has different reactions.

I have two little girls, i pissed liters of water from my tear ducts at that point, sorry im a dad, it got me, it would kill me to leave my kids at that point, but he did the right thing. maybe should have went under the train wheels to guarantee no further danger to his girl though, what a cauck sucker.

I have a daughter and the whole film was almost ruined by that ridiculous ending - made no sense except to try and crowbar in some easy tears -- left me unmoved because of this.

whole film was comedy gold, just like WWZ, just like any other z movie ever made, people really running out of ideas what to film anymore, every goddamn movie or videogame either about zombies or end of the world
