It’s getting solid reviews but it’s being described as underwhelming by more than a few. Regardless, I expect an intensely gripping show with one of the most relentless and brooding characters in comic/TV/film history.
Totally agree, and Jon Bernthal is without a doubt the perfect guy for the role, can't wait to see him nail this character. He was the best part of Daredevil S2, so its gonna be awesome to have an entire season with him as the lead.

I am behind on the marvel shows. I simply cant get the desire up to start Luke Cage and I can't download the eps so I am restricted to just watching them at home.
Just watched the 1st episode and it was awesome.
And no you don't have to watch the other shows to follow it, especially shows like Luke Cage since he has nothing at all to do with The Punisher. If anything Daredevil Season 2 is the only thing i'd say give a watch just cause this show kinda picks up where he left off at the end of Daredevil S2.
If you already watched Daredevil then you're good, and if you haven't you can probably find a vid on youtube showing you everything from Daredevil you need to know about The Punisher.
