As Irish As Paddy's Pig
Only thing missing was someone singing Danny Boy.
Excellent film about some very Irish pastimes--secrets, grudges, and revenge. Nigel O'Neill (Donal) and Susan Lynch (Frankie) are both brilliant. Every time Donal moves the action forward you just keep waiting for the whole thing to get banjaxed and it eventually does, which brings to mind that old saw...Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.
Minor quibble: Considering the number of CCTV cameras in Ireland it's unlikely Donal would've been able to create that much mayhem without the police getting involved at some point.
Food in Films: Two good choices. Donal's fry up topped with watered-down salad cream and Trevor's heartbreak ice cream sundae.
