It has humor and a pretty simple plot. It's just not for me. Parents divorce because the dad wants another woman the mom goes back to the same college her daughter is attending to finish her degree. She's out of touch and delightful to everyone. She makes friends with girls and her daughter and they go through college experiences together.
It's a similar situation to Back to School. Not the worst but nothing that stands out.
It also didn't seem realistic she's the only older student there. And bullying is not very common after high school, at least according to my experiences (outside the US).
shareIt's a light-hearted mother/daughter film, not really the typical Melissa McCarthy comedy, so if you went in hoping for that I can see why you weren't into it. I personally like it better than a lot of her films coz I prefer her straight acting to her comedy, but it's clear why a lot of people didn't.
