Enjoyable story

Mockumentary style worked. Maybe a little too sympathetic to Tonya and Margot Robbie a little old looking for a character aged 15-23, but minor complaints.

The acting was on par.

Agreed -
Hmm.... yes, I guess it was sympathetic. Then again, corrupt judging, horrible upbringing, and abusive husband - it's hard not to feel sympathy at some point.

Otherwise, I find figure skating fascinating - some of the biggest Olympic scandals occur in that sport.

Sorry, but the fact that "I, Tonya" generates sympathy for and glorifies the real-life Tonya Harding, who committed two crimes that resulted in the loss of her promising figure skating career, is the whole problem. Co-conspiring to obstruct the investigation and prosecution of Jeff Gillooly and his henchmen, and making a totally unprovoked physical assault on a now ex-boyfriend with a hubcap, seriously injuring him and bringing a police warrant down on her own head fairly shortly thereafter, when the United States Figure Skating association was about to let her back in, both cost Tonya Harding her career.

No matter what her upbringing was like, or her ex-husband was like, what Tonya Harding did was inexcusable...and wrong. Sorry, but she got what she deserved--the loss of her career.

I think the movie made her look submissive, but I don't think she would just take those beatings the way she did. I bet she has a mouth on her too.

In real life, Tonya is a rather rough-and-tough, yahooish woman who was an exceptionally talented figure-skater. She does have quite a mouth on her, as well.
