Tries too much to look intellectual, and still fails....

Who agrees with me that Pink tries too much to look/sound intellectual/intelligent, and still fails miserably at that?
The movie simply does not flow naturally (horrible script writing) and acting by all was quite unnatural, specially of Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu.
Sounds like Bengali superiority complex to me, yea? :)

reply

It seems you are a great critic. LOl.

reply

The purpose of the film was to talk about everyday issues girls face and we are all aware of these issues, but still no film talks about it. The film never tries to be intelligent, it only tries to stick to the logic and keeping that logic in mind and some commercial masala to keep it moving, it passses the message pretty well. The script was not amazing, but not horrible! Horrible script writing is Rustom. This one stayed was much better than what we see.

reply

Right! I agree with you.

Its a fight between good and bad.
Its not about gender vs gender.

This is a universal fact. Remember this.

reply

better all women watch this movie, in case they not knew universal facts associated.

reply

Hahaha... I hope you've got my response. You definitely were not in good mental state or mood while watching this movie otherwise you would never have commented and criticized this movie.

The only movie that made sense in 2016 for me is this movie. No, script writing was superb, gripping, perfect and touched real issues of present India. You might not have gone through the details, subtle and thought provoking dialogues and meaning behind every scene.

This movie is modern masterpiece, that is all.

You were making a fine point until you mentioned

Sounds like Bengali superiority complex to me
Why is the director's ethnicity an issue here? I'm outta here!

Point taken, and agreed.

reply

Thank you.
Well, to discuss your point, I think the sole issue the makers wanted to convey here was of women empowerment and other related arcs involving women in these volatile times. However, the court sequences looked highly contrived and unrealistic. Sr. Bachchan's character goes all preachy, and the story is conveniently ended. But, still, it is a socially relevant film and needs to be watched at least once. It makes one or one and half points.

I stopped myself from leaving the cinema hall in between twice. Simply because I had already spent my money. Honestly.

If you look weird, speak incoherently, behave annoyingly; only then you are right. This movie tries to convey this message. I have a problem with this thinking. I know several people who have smarted from difficult experiences life has taught them, and most of them are unlike Deepak Sehgal.

Your ethnicity point was correct to a certain extent only. What I intended was why almost everyone in the movie a Bengali only? We are talking about a metropolitan city here. Personally, I know a few Bengalis myself and majority of them suffer from superiority complex. Huge actually! I am sure I have not met the right ones of the lot so far, right?

reply

Maybe, but even if the primary characters of the film are of that ethnicity, I didn't or couldn't find any blatant showcasing of that anywhere in the script. Did you? Umm, I'm confused here.

Also, I think it is not right to base a verdict about a group on your experience with a few people. People are generally good, even if you ignore it. :)

DeepCing or deepthroat or deepsh** whatever your name is, please show clarity while trying to make a point. the movie simply does not flow naturally, of course it dosen't, jackass, its a very unique way of film-making, just not showing the 'incident' till the very end, so that viewers would not judge the girls by watching the initial scenes where it would have have shown, what really happened.(or was it too difficult for you pea-brained to understand what the *beep* was going on...)
"acting was unnatural"....be andweprasad, Boot woot pehenke Raaz reboot to nahin dekh rahan tha??

reply

Highly obnoxious reply to a genuine criticism. uggh....

reply

no it is not obnoxious....as a matter of fact, its very appropriate.
just filter this movie with the other trash that is being churned out week after week and in droves. when you are in the power of using words like obnoxious and genuine, it immediately makes you a very educated and intelligent person, and you should be the first one to understand the quality and class of a film like PINK, and support it, just not for the movie but for the theme and content also.😃

reply

You don't seem to be alright.

reply

Genuine criticism of a Bengali Director (or as you state later on, every bengali) having a superiority complex. Need I say more? Infact I guess you were also disturbed why the Bengali director was biased towards the girls?

On 2nd thought I guess in front of your pea-sized brain every Bengali gets a superiority complex?

reply

Amazing movie. Go take a walk.

reply

Its more socially relevant than it was entertaining.

reply

Attention Seeker?

Why do we fall?

reply

Pink is surely not one of those films with only entertainment value. More than a film, it can be viewed as a picture of the women in the social structure. It surely does not employ a continuity editing like other commercial features, so the experience can be somewhat different. That is not the fault of a script.

About the acting, the three female characters did great in portraying how traumatized they are becoming. Piyush Mishra is top notch as always. Amitabh Bachchan is also good. Even the female(lady!) police is good.

About the complex thing... maybe it's the other way round... a case of your inferiority complex ...
