By any possible definition, SAS are the top SF in the world. They don't go around claiming that, that's the difference.
All the SF operators respect each other, this utter nonsense in the media of glamorizing US SF and claiming they're the best has got to stop, it's arrogant and stupid.

They and the SAS are both top tier special forces, peers amongst the elite. These groups go through similar selection processes, receive similar training,have access to the best equipment and constantly practice their skills. All this and a cross pollination of ongoing exchanges of training techniques and tactics creates extremely skilled operators no matter what the name.
Do a search for top tier special forces, you'll be surprised at some of the results.
If you want precision, call SEALs or Delta.
If you want finesse, call the SAS.
If you just want everyone dead (insurgents, hostages, etc.), call Spaznats

The Norwegian Telemark Batallion could run rings around both in cold weather, seriously, whenever Americans or Brits send their so-called "elite" soldiers to train with us, they always end up wimping out.
shareperhaps they are not as well trained as your guys are due to your familiarity. I imagine experts in desert warfare might have a leg up on SAS and the Seals in that regard.

Utter rubbish. The British SAS, SBS and the Royal Marine Commandos have been training in your country for decades. And you should remember what the 'wimpy' British did for your country in WW2. A bit of respect wouldn't go amiss.
That said, I love Norway and its people. And you have a fine armed forces.
The Seals aren't going around claiming anything. It's others especially movies & tv trying to cash in on something that has recently be in the media. You never heard anything before. I myself am grateful that there are men & women willing to fight for democracy. I am sure that all SFs all over the world are good. But since the Seals represent our nation, We as US citizens should support them IMO. But don't criticize & make assumptions about something which you know very little about.

Btw fighting illegal wars isn't defending my country it's carrying out political orders to benefit corporations and the rich.
These guys all seem to have serious issues of one kind or another. Not sure giving them access to guns is a good idea. Corny dialogue doesn't help.
