Anyone feel John Cena and his subplot was more engaging than the main story?

Even though Jackob's whole personality was a complete 180 from what it was in the previous film, John Cena showed a heck of a lot more charisma and likability in this film than Vin Diesel.

Vin oftentimes feel like he's sleep walking through a lot of his newer films. John Cena, however, actually seemed to care about what he was doing and his part of the story was at least somewhat interesting compared to whatever it was the others were doing.

No!

yep. Nobody dies in a Fast n Furious film. I really hope they spin off Cena's character into his own adventure.

Somebody did point out exactly in the car flipping where John Cena could've ejected and he rolled off the road offscreen before the car blew up. But going further with the nobody dies stuff, I don't know why the Gal Gadot reveal was such a big deal. I've been waiting for her return since I saw the beginning of 7. When we saw Statham's brother in the hospital at the beginning of 7 and then moving around/helping out Statham during the final fight/action sequence of 8, I was questioning where Gal Gadot was. She had a similar "death" to Statham's brother, buth Statham's brother I think had a worse/painful "death" than her. So I was actually expecting Gal Gadot tor return in 8 or 9. And since Statham's brother survived, I'm fine with her surviving. Also, when they revived Han, I was like "Okay, they have to be bringing back Gal Gadot and are more than likely bringing her back. There is no way we are having Han without her."

No. His subplot was the worst. He was too goofy. Mainly that family-friendly type of goofy and goofiness aimed for kids. I wanted the John Cena humor from Peacemaker, which is more for adults and more R-rated. The Fast & Furious movies are PG-13 though, so the Peacemaker humor would have to be tone down some, but it could still be for adults. I don't really see any kids watching these movies. Whenever I see the movies, everyone in the theater is older teens and older. Probably the youngest moviegoers there are 16 or 17, and they more than likely have heard some R-rated humor before. The last time I saw kids at a Fast & Furious movie was probably the 6th or 7th movie. But they could've made John Cena's character more for adults than John Cena from WWE or some PG movie. But yeah. I didn't not care about the John Cena stuff. It was my least favorite part of the movie, especially after seeing what John Cena is capable of in Peacemaker.
