Awful, Horrible, Dreadful Idea

The original was perfect. There is nothing that TV can add to this....it can only take away. When is Hollywood going to simply hire good writers that can come up with new stories, instead of raping stories that were written before?

Not to mention it has NONE of the actual Exorcist characters and is not set or filmed in Georgetown. This to me appears to be another rip off using the exorcist name for brand recognition

Literally nothing about your complaint makes sense. Why would they set it there? This is a sequel story of sorts, set 40-ish years after the events of the movie.

You're most likely right. Remakes are very rarely good. However, I've been surprised by shows/movies that I thought were going to be terrible…so I may give this a shot. When is this expected to air?

I'm wondering how they're going to make this last a season. Unless they're planning on a new demonic possession case a week.

I Agree ^

Just because Scream the tv series doesn't have any of the same character names, that doesn't stop me from liking it. I'm giving this a shot!

Only bright spot is the inclusion of the original Tubular Bells at trailer's end.

I can't comment on the show, which seems to only be three episodes at this point, but the iconic music always gives me chills. I would have to say that is the best part of the various commercials and the trailers.

I'm a huge fan of the film and I tend to agree with the initial comments. However, I said the same when they decided to make other TV shows based on films.....and I ended up loving Sleepy Hollow, Bates Motel and Hannibal. I was proved wrong then and I hope to be now. The trailer doesn't give me chills though....until I heard Tubular Bells, but that's testament to the original film.

I have high hopes but I'm not holding my breath!

The TV shows you mention are all based on BOOKS. Wgat has the world come to when you compare a TV show to a movie, without giving recognition to the initial media that it was based on?

Well....I'm back to eat my words. I was expecting this to be some exploitative, TV rip off garbage. After all....all of the sequels to the original have been horrible anyway....why would I expect any better?

Well....I watched the pilot episode and I am all in now. I take it back....I salute the producers on doing a great job. Great cast, great writing, the characters are developed and sympathetic. The production values, cinematography, and direction....all top notch.

Not many come back to IMDB to say "I was wrong"....but here I am.
