Anyone else noticed the familiarities?

I kept thinking of Earth 2, with some changes this could have been a remake of that.

Earth 2 was on one planet. This show is not. The Robinson's are eventually by themselves Lost in Space without the other families in tow.

I couldn't help but think about Earth 2 the entire time. But Earth 2 is one of my favorite shows, i've seen it like 50 times.
