So Kevin Bacon can't even get on a scyfy show now?

Man he must be at rock bottom in his career right now if the channel that makes the Sharknado movies and gives Tara Reid work don't even want him on their channel.

For those unaware this was cancelled by scyfy, which kinda baffles me, Kevin Bacon is still a pretty big name imo, why would they not wanna at least give it a chance? Bacon would be one of the bigger names they've had on their channel in a long time.

I mean they got shit like Z Nation on there but they think they're too good for Tremors?

Maybe he wanted too high of a payment?

reply

No Bacon really wanted to do this show, he wanted everyone to see it, i highly doubt he demanded a bunch of money Scyfy couldn't agree to and was fine with the show never seeing the light of day.

Kevin Bacon is on TV quite often here in the U.K doing mobile phone adverts. I think he's taking any work he can get as apparently he lost a fortune in the Madoff scheme. He's too good to end up doing shitfest films but needs must.

reply

I'm looking forward to his collaboration movie with Nicholas Cage.

Let's hope it doesn't come to the likes of Left Behind (2014) or Mega this Vs Giant that. I'm a big fan of Tremors and it's a pity he didn't appear in the sequel at least. Maybe Tarantino can give Bacon and Cage a career bump in whatever he's got up his sleeve in future.

Perhaps Kevin Bacon demanded more money than the Scyfy show would allow!

The pilot must have been utterly atrocious for SyFy not to run with it.

I'm 99.9% certain the pilot wasn't picked up because SyFy had already tried a Tremors TV series back in 2003 that was extremely expensive for the station (at the time) and less-than-hoped-for ratings resulted in the loss of a shit ton of dollars (which was also why the show was cancelled halfway into its first season). After one show had been a big financial flop the first time, why would they take a gamble and potentially lose more money again? It'd be like making a sequel to a film that bombed at the box office.

Of course, there's also the possibility that the show was just THAT bad, or that the show would just be too expensive. Remember, SyFy likes their shit cheap.
