interesting, surreal - poetic, but also pretty slow
I thought this film was pretty interesting.
It wasn't artistic in the sense that i was difficult to follow, the story was simple, but it was an interesting exploration of a human mind - or the mindset of a man who did something odd and surreal. Then again, the whole episode could be an early sign of a complete mental breakdown somewhere down the road.
Still, there was plenty of poetry in this film in the form of main character's narration combined with piano overtones.
Given the general odd, yet poetic tone of this film, I don't have an issue with the ending.
Still, the film was too slow - and I did fast-forward more than once.
All in all - I'd give this film 6/10, if only because I did finish seeing it and I did want to see how it would end. Moreover, the scenes with the kids who had down syndrome were actually kind of sweet.
