What will the relationship between Emad and Rana be like in the end?

I watched the movie and wondered how they will go on after this. And if there was a hidden answer to this in the final scene. Would Rana make Emad responsible for the possible death of the old man?

Probably Rana will feel that they are guilty for the death of the old man. She seems to think that it was all her fault anyway. But i want to think that in real life a couple like this will move on eventually, and get over it.

There is an odd framing in movies like this where the woman is always right. Is it possible to be a woman in a movie and not be right? I am not sure I can think of one movie where there is a rift between man and woman and the man is right. It is almost unnatural to show that in a movie.

In this case, I think Emad was right. When someone does something like that I don't care how pathetic his wife is or how sympathetic his daughter or hopeful his son-in-law might be, it isn't right and it should be known.

I'd like to understand what is this push to forgive a permanent trauma and just forget it ... to the wife, to the husband and to their marriage? Why should the younger couple have to forgo justice because the man is old and infirm, but old enough to assault a lone woman in an apartment he should not have been in and lied about not noticing anything changing ... and then why did he leave all the money?

This was a very thoughtful movie. Iran surprised me in a very good way. I guess I just expected to see more plot incursions by religion, which were hinted at by the reporting something to the police and their investigations might get corrupted and end up being another injustice. Really good movie.

I can't help but think that this will affect them for a long time to come, which I think is the whole point of the film.

Crimes like rape victimize whole families, whole communities.

Nobody involved with this will ever be the same again.

But then if the old man was guilty of doing something so terrible, why should they feel de-facto guilty over it, even if unfortunately, sexual assault has the power and capacity to make victims feel along those lines?

Maybe not all people as a result exhibit vengeful thoughts even when perpetrator as such gets caught?

Let's also imagine he did something else that is also wrong and terrible, would they feel guilty and bad if he died in their arms like that, like, say he murdered someone?

Also, towards the end, the movie somewhat plays out that even if he is guilty, and even if he really did what he did or something along those lines, we are somewhat supposed to feel sorry for him, and the constant lingering on his grieving relatives and whatnot, but was that meant to be the case?

How did you feel about the seeming push from the wife to forgo any justice, to just get it over with, but it seemed it would really not be over with for her? It seems there needs to be some kind of social ostracization, punishment and compensation or amends made if possible, and some kind of show of support from the community for the victim. A society that does not do this or allow for it is a corrupt and broken one. In my opinion.
