This is really distracting. Why are they doing it? The blacks, hindus and asians should make their own movies based on their culture. Why are they thinking they need to be in a series based on polish / slavic folklore? It is really strange to watch because you can't take it seriously that way. Mostly they are not even good actors, just put there for the "representation". This is really a disrespect to the source material, and based on this series, the diverse take a major part in something that has nothing to do with their cultural heritage. By the way, in the Witcher books racism is a big thing. Elves, humans and dwarves hate and fight each other. But that somehow does not apply to the diverse people in this series, and that just does not make any sense. Alright, ok. Thanks that they allowed Geralt to be a white male.

As someone from the Slavic culture, I really don't care.. sometimes you have to suspend disbelief. Would you rather have nothing to watch? The black elves were like whut?? But then I just told myself they are dark elves and kept watching.

What am I saying, each culture has its own tales. And this is great, and that is how it should be.
This is the Slavic culture, on which the Witcher is based on.
As Hokku, the Ninjas and the Samurais are Japanese culture
Just imagine, in Kill Bill, half of the Crazy 88s were blacks and not japanese.
Did someone complain about Squid Game that there are no "diverse people"?
No, because nobody cares, this should be just a good, entertaining show.
But this does not apply to modern European based shows. This is strange.
This is forced diversity, and this is unnecessary. Would fewer people watch it if there were not enough "diverse" people in it? If this is so, then the people who complain about it are the real racists.

The United States engaged in the slave trade for 70-80 years a couple of centuries ago, and now all of Western civilization has to pay penance for that sin. Now, we all have to live with Sub-Saharans over-represented in modern cinema (even when it is set in medieval Europe) because in the early 1800s, the Americans were too fucking lazy to pick their own cotton.

That's a great take. Americans were too lazy to pick their own cotton so now they all feel guilty about something their ancestors did so we all have to put up with forced diversity everywhere.
