To live another day Michael reveals to the Empress who she really is.
The Empress says that the crew members of the Defiant went mad after going thru ….the space anomaly, worm hole (?)….. that brought them to the MU and Michael explains that she and her crew finished up in the MU via the spore drive .
Is the Empress on the level ?…she has some connection with Michael but she is as ruthless as you can get …eating Kelpian and in an eye’s blink she disposed personally of several highly rank officers in the throne room.
So exactly how did M.Lorca end up in the Prime Universe ? We know that he was planning a coup that went wrong .
M.Michael ,had second thoughts, went after him , ended up dead and M.Lorca missing.
The Empress confirmed the attempted coup, that M.Michael had been manipulated but it seems that she had a rethought (we don't know why, though).
What followed after between the two is hard to say.
M.Lorca would have had access to top secret data being the Empress’ top collaborator….so in case his coup was a failure , was escaping to the Prime Universe a planned risk (knowing he could finish up going mad ) ?
Going by the trailer ,M.Lorca still has crew members loyal to him (I wonder who that young woman in black, he releases , is ) ? There will be a confrontation of force between M.Lorca and the Empress.
I’m wondering if M.Lorca loses this time around again will Michael leave him to be judged in his universe or will she bring him back to be trailed in her universe?
I've just made a post in regards to episode 13 - I suspect that he'll prove to be too much of a baddie or perhaps even die a heroic death, but either way, the black chick will become the Starfleet's first black female captain.
After all, this TV show is so super progressive - it spent quite a bit of time on the gay bits in the finale, so the makings of the first black female captain is in the cards next. To me, that's disappointing, because the actor playing the captain was a decent actor - but now he's been thrown under the bus, via being a vigilante with a nasty personality from the parallel universe.

@In all honest I think the actor considered this role , not only because it was an interesting/compelling one but also , because he knew it would end with season one.
Having a leading role in the newest Star Trek series is a juicy catch but Jason Isaacs is too much of a creative and versatile actor to be tied down too long in the same part.
What makes acting exciting for talented actors like Isaacs is to be free to take on regularly new challenging roles.
That said, I’m not sure how the cards will play out. Depends a lot on Michael. Will M.Lorca’s deception make Michael team up with the Empress ? She is ruthless and she wants to wipe out the rebels.
I too like Lorca so I'm hoping also for some act of redemption on his part .
With Lorca out of the picture , you maybe right in regards to Michael becoming the first black female captain… I saw a review about two weeks ago that theorized an interesting possibility.
During their jump back to the Prime Universe an anomaly occurs and they finish up in the past before the war started giving them somehow the opportunity to stop the war ,to save Georgiou etc...
You may be right about Lorca actor not wanting to be tied down to this TV show. Game of Thrones also featured a very seasoned actor in the lead of the first season only to be killed off by the end of it - but at least GoT had a decent story to tell and characters to develop in the latter seasons - and those of us who have read the books knew that much. I don't have quite as much faith in the writers of this show.

@I'm starting to have doubts too.
There were a couple of script choices that really annoyed me .
1. the writers choice to accentuate in every way possible the villain aspect in Lorca . I got the feeling that the writers wanted us to feel that Lorca was far more condemnable for his actions than M.Georgiou.
And why is this ?
For script purposes..they wanted to continue using Georgiou character..
2. The writer's choice to have Michael save Georgiou, just doesn't make sense to me.
Michael hated everything the Terran Empire and Empress Georgiou represented .
Michael and the crew of the Discovery freed the MU from the terror and the tyranny of the Terran Empire and the Empress .
The two teamed up to defeat Lorca ,then once Michael disactivated the shields she decided to save M.Georgiou and bring her back to her universe..
What plausible reason could justify such a choice ?
Should her crimes be "forgotten" because she did them in her universe? hardly.
There is no logic in Michael's action and emotions don't centre either because she is 100% aware that the two Georgious are different like day and night, white and black.
So why did the writers make that choice .. I think the trailer for episode 14 suggests why .
Despite being unrealistic, the writers have Michael save mass murderer M.Georgiou that way , once back home, the Federation can use the character 's savagery and military expertise to win the war against the Klingons.(Marcus and Khan/JJAbrams crap ️come to mind).
And where do the ethics and noble principals of the Federation stand then,if they are willing to make such a deal with the likes of M. Georgiou?
I don't particularly like how the story seems to be heading.
