YASTPTVS=Yet Another Star Trek Prequel TV Series

When are we going to see what happened after the Dominion War? Why do they keep pushing out prequels like we're interested in what happened. I think that's why Enterprise was such a flop.

And what happened after the Voyager got home, bearing takes of wonders and horrors from the far side of the galaxy? That could be the starting point for a new series, a ship taking off for that quadrant to explore or set up defenses, or maybe it's a joint Federation-Klingon-Romulan-Cardassian fleet. Something like that, there's no end of possibilities from the post-TNG/Vg/DS9 time..

Instead, they're covering ground that's just too familiar, and even a 30 second clip has me niggling about continuity errors. We saw that era in "The Menagerie" for fuck's sake, and it didn't look like this!

"like we're interested in"

speak for yourself.

Enterprise was a flop because Scott Bakula has no talent, was miscast, and the plots were awful time travel BS.

I think the fact there was a "Dominion War" is why we'll never see a series set post-VOY. They pretty much burnt out the Trek universe and its a pretty dire place in the late 24th century after Romulus blew up and all that.

However, I agree it was stupid to set the series in the Pike-era prime universe. We know what Starfleet looked like in that time period, it absolutely would not work for a 21st century TV series, but they insisted on it anyway.

IMO, the original "rumor" that the show was set BETWEEN Star Trek VI and TNG was the best option. That's 80 years of Trek history we haven't seen, so they had PLENTY of room to explore and develop the Star Trek universe in that period. Having the Wrath of Khan era uniforms with the TNG style combadges and state of the art special effects would have been a very cool look for Star Trek.
