If you mean the post-credit scene, I have no idea what it means that Toomes shows up in that prison cell. If you're talking about the 2nd post-credit scene, where The Vulture, (who is Arian Toomes/Michael Keaton), is asking Morbius about joining up to make a team, that's in reference to The Sinister Six. A team they were both members of in comics.

I don't think this character is strong enough to have a sequel, or interesting enough to make some team with The Vulture and others to make a movie. But we'll see.......

Toomes from Earth 616 (MCU) was transported during the events of "Spider-Man No way home" into Morbius Earth. As that world Toomes didn't do anything wrong, he was released from prison and directly rebuilded his Vulture suit and try to team up with Morbius.

Where did Toomes get the money and tech to rebuild his suit? Why did he think teaming up with Morbius was a good idea? What reason would Morbius (in this movie anyway) have for fighting Spider-Man?

reply

Of course, you wouldn't get (or expect) answers to all those questions in a brief post credit scene.

The way most post credit scenes are made to work -- at least for comic book characters and themes -- is to build intrique and suspense and keep people interested and full of anticipation for the next film.

Not saying there's going to be a "next film" in this particular case of course . . .

I think a better post credits scene would have been to show how Toomes knew about Morbius in the first place, then make a comment like "for some reason I think he could be an ally in my fight against Spider-Man."

That would work!
