The Newest Trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp debuted today...Looks extremely fun.

figured I'd start a Prediction thread....

I think AM+W is going to have A BIG increase from AM1(similar to The Phase 2 movies after The Avengers) here are my reasons

Giving That Ant-Man 1 was a success and was liked, that goes well for a sequel

Ant-Man had A Show Stealing role in the billion dollar + Civil War

Coming off AIW, Audiences are going to be even more invested and READY for a good old "Fun" MCU film....

Prediction-

Opening Weekend-75 to 95 Million

Total Domestic-230 to 280 Million

World Wide-625 to 725 Million

RT Score-80 to 88%

I see it doing similar numbers to Doctor Strange but I wouldn't be surprised if it actually did even more. The MCU brand is at an all time high and people are hungry for more MCU films. Iron Man 3 got a massive boost after Avengers 1 with it's great WOM, while Ant-Man 1 didn't light the world on fire after Avengers 2 supposed so-so WOM. Ant-Man itself did have a great multiplier though and was one of the standouts from CW. The biggest hurdle IMO is whether or not the general audience will be too confused that it follows the events of CW and not AIW. I'm hoping that the last 5 minutes directly links itself to AIW and that it gives people an extra incentive to go watch.

My predictions are - OW $85M

DOM - $240M

WW - $700M

I'm giving it modest expectations. It will make more than the first Ant-Man (130 million budget with 519 million worldwide gross) but not by much. I'll say that Ant-Man and Wasp makes close to 600 million, by the end of it's theatrical run.

Looks like pretty much everyone is predicting this to match or exceed JL both Dom and WW ...who would've guessed that 12 months ago?!?

If it is met with the usual MCU raves (85-92% score on RT), then I feel comfortable predicting 735+ Million worldwide. That’s my sole prediction at the moment. Optimistic, sure, but I know the appeal and power of the MCU cannot be underestimated. Hell, this sequel’s RT score could land somewhere in the 70’s and I can still see it pulling in impressive BO numbers.

And while the buzz for this currently feels smaller compared to other MCU films (appropriate, isn’t it?), something tells me this sequel will be bigger than many anticipate. Infinity War should definitely give it a boost, and since word on the street is that Ant-Man is going to be pivotal come “Avengers 4”, “Ant-Man & The Wasp” could very well end up being an important film in the MCU.

The trailers? I can’t get enough of them. The first Ant-Man is honestly one of my absolute favorite Marvel films, so I’m super hyped for this sequel. Overall it looks like it’s gonna be another huge win for Marvel.
