Actually pretty good.
No real point to remaking the original but if you havnt seen the orig in a while like me, the remake will do fine. Great performance.

I'd have to agree with this succinct assessment as someone who not only saw and revered the original, I read both Papillon and its sequel, Banco and by the end, I was impressed with what I intuitively perceived and remembered from the story as being accurate. It's a decent remake, worth watching.
