If Chinese people are so smart, why therefore do they flock to see our most execrable cinematic garbage like Transformers and superhero movies and this new Godzilla Vs. Kong? Maybe they're not as clever as we thought.

No, just a self-announcement of his supposedly superior intelligence and taste; a common sign of a pretentious person whose self-esteem is far too high and needs to learn he isn't as smart as he thinks he is.
