at 58% and dropping fast.

This does not bode well.

The studios will go after Rotten Tomatoes next, just like they did the message boards. Can't have honest feedback potentially souring the BO.

With an audience score like that, this won't be another Greatest Showman in terms of legs.

130 million production budget to boot.

Ouch.

If it wasn't opening against a DC film the ratings would be higher, audience score is easily influenced by crazy DC fans the same way anyone can vote on IMDb. What makes the difference is the critics score and rating on RT and MC. There it's rated much better than one Aquaman ;)

I haven't put any stock into Rotten Tomatoes' ratings since they blocked all negative comments about "The Black Panther." You can't trust a site that can't take even a little criticism for any films or tv shows.

It's now currently at 71%, that escalated quickly.

Yes it did...but 71% isn't very good for a film as expensive as this. It still doesn't bode well for legs with only a 71% audience score.

True. That percentage is low enough to scare casual moviegoers away, the ones who are not dead-set on seeing this film or are on the fence unlike die-hard fans.

The Greatest Showman is still in the high 80's one year later.

This won't have it's legs and its opening low.

That tells me that Greatest Showman has been able to sustain a lot of good fanfare well after its release. Considering Disney's big money-making year for 2018, compared to the other film studios, I don't think they are sweating too hard after the 'Nutcracker' or 'Christopher Robin' showings since they had the earnings to take the risks in the hopes of making more.

That low opening suggest a lot of people are not sure and are waiting out for word-of-mouth.
