Where's Bert?
Mary Poppins isn't the same without Bert.
shareBert and his merry band of singing, tap-dancing chimney sweeps were keeping me up all night with their noise.
So I killed Bert and ate him. His head is still in my fridge. Do not tell a soul.

Dick Van Dyke will be in the movie but he won't be playing the same character. I think an EW article said he will have a rather small role in the film.
Lin-Manuel Miranda will likely be taking over as the new song-and-dance man.
Had Julie Andrews accepted the invitation to join this cast, I have a feeling Dick Van Dyke would have played Bert. There's no way you bring back the original Mary Poppins and not bring back Bert, even for a short scene.
Lin Manuel-Miranda is perfect as his lamplighter "leerie" character, Jack.
shareBert and every one of his chimney sweep compatriots died in the trenches of WW1.
shareHe’s there in spirit. ;)
Dick Van Dyke’s appearance was too good for words. His screen time might’ve been limited but he more than makes up for it.
He died of black lung disease, like most chimney sweeps. Good thing his protégé found another like of work!

shareJack said he was off traveling the world. Is everyone calling Jack a liar?
