He has an abusive drunk for a father and she has been virtually isolated her entire life. Yet both seem to be well adjusted polite teenagers.
That doesn't make sense.
Well, not every kid who is abused is a jerk. Some are actually polite and good b/c they are abused at home. Everyone is different.

shareI don't think it's impossible for her to be well-adjusted. Before she learned her mother was a psycho, she thought she had a terminal illness and that her mom was doing what was best for her. I hear what you're saying, but my sister and I were pretty good kids. We didn't cause our parents any problems so the idea of them being relatively good kids isn't too shocking to me.
