Chidi on Earth
Wasn't Chidi supposed to be French speaking when he was alive? Now he's giving lectures and talking to living Eleanor with his American English accent. So much fot continuity.

Maybe they are still dead and the "real/living world" is another fake experimental place created by Michael/Janet/The Judge. Therefore Chidi could still speak English fluently. Or maybe the world is real but it's not the real Chidi and Chidi is still in Africa.
I didn't think about them still being dead. That's a pretty good theory and it does keep in line with the show. I think the premise was that the real Chidi made Eleanor better, so hopefully they're not gonna do (more) fakes. With this show, you never know!
shareI assumed they were still dead from the jump, and was also wondering about this. I didn't see a problem with Chidi speaking English (I think he said he'd travelled to the US to give lectures in the past, among other places), but I figured he should have had an accent.
