People go by the names their parents give them, but they don't believe in God

I'm struggling to understand what is meant by this quote. I heard it in the movie and it really stuck out to me. I'm interpreting it as there are things we accept blindly and things we challenge without significant basis.

Any thoughts?

I'd pretty much say the same thing. Parents always seem like a bigger authority figure than God, probably because they can punish, or more accurately you don't want to disappoint them, so that's probably at least part of the reason why people just accept their names for most of their lives. There was a point in my life where I wanted to go by a different last name, mostly because the other name just didn't seem like it was going to open many doors for me and so I decided to go by mostly a first name and middle name. I felt the need to run that by my mom first.

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see and if you have any thoughts or criticisms, i'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance. A review of the movie here- https://youtu.be/VG9oZ4p6dDc
