For Those who Loved it...When did you Know?

I know Everyone has their own opinions, Some probably didnt like it as much as me....

But I was BLOWN AWAY by this movie, IMO its one of the greatest action Movies I've ever seen, and as I was watching I got the feeling I was watching something incredibly special, I've had similar experiences while watching The Dark Knight for The first time, John Wick, Mad Max Fury Road and The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy(which I just watch for the 1st time 3 years ago)

Point being, very early on in the film, I began getting the feeling this was Special, and about 20mins in after The Skydive that Leads into the Bathroom fight, I FULLY knew I was watching something exceptional....

and stunningly at least for me, It just kept getting better and better....Mission Impossible Fallout is close to an action masterpiece for me....

If you loved this film, when did you know you were watching something truly great? was there a certain point where you new or began feeling this film was going to be special?

Of course this an epic action movie i mean the helicopter chase alone is an amazing set piece with really the best stunt work by Tom cruise ever that never done before

^you know....

I remember watching some DVD special features from some of Cruise's other movies....and I always remembered him talking about why he loves doing his own stunts....and he always says "I just think It brings something special to the Viewer if they can know and believe thats really me doing it, It brings something extra to the experience for the movie goer"

and I can honestly say even though I always knew Cruise did his own stunts, I dont ever remember it Bringing "anything extra" to my experience...

Until The last 3 Mission Impossible Movies...

I actually do believe Cruise doing his own stunts is a major part of the draw and success of these last 3 MI films...

When I watched Mission Impossible 4 and watched the "Dubai Burj Khalifa sequence"....I knew that the was actually Cruise doing it....It Blew Me away, Knowing there was very little CGI and Green screen Truly did add to the experience....

Then when I got it on Blu Ray and watched the behind the scenes and truly understood just what Cruise did and How damn near everything you see Is REAL....I Loved it even more...

Mission Impossible 5 didnt have too many of those in it for except for The Motorcycle crash....

But Fallout, I truly TRULY enjoy the Action sequences knowing that they were for the most part real and it was Cruise doing them....Knowing they shot The Halo Jump almost 100 times to get the right shot....It really did add to My experience

anyways just wanted to say that

i'd never watched a MI film before seeing this in the theatres, & i was shocked at how much i enjoyed it. i definitely think it ranks among the best action films i've seen.

the moment when i knew i was seeing something pretty remarkable was the bathroom fight. there have been a million fights in bathrooms, there will be a million more, but the entire time i was watching this one, i felt like i was seeing something as energetic & intense as the best scenes from the raid, and there's no higher bar for action movies for me.

if it hadn't done anything great after that, i still would have felt like i'd seen something pretty special, but it just kept ratcheting up the intensity. the chase scenes rate with the best moments from fury road. the helicopter scene was astonishing. it was all truly great.

the story is just along for the ride i suppose, another film about people running around to beat a ticking clock on a bomb, and maybe that keeps this from attaining some kind of true cinematic nirvana, but i'm not going to complain about a film that gave me as much pure entertainment as this one did.

The story isn't great. Basically, there's a bomb so people have to run run run. haha.

In the motorcycle scenes in Paris. Astounding. I've never seen action filmmaking like that in my life. The logistics involved in those locations boggles my mind. How did they even get the tourists out of all those shots? I knew then I was watching the actual pinnacle of real world film making.

I just assumed The Vehicles and people that Cruise and others are weaving in and out of while going 100 Mile an hour + where CGI as I saw Literally no possible safe way to film those shots....If Those cars were real, Then dear god I'm even more BLOWN away

The HALO jump sequence that leads into the fight in the bathroom for me as well.

The build up to the jump, knowing it’s genuinely Tom Cruise throwing himself out the plane, the sheer tension that follows, the way it was beautifully shot (can’t beat watching it in IMAX)... this is when I knew I was about to experience (WAS experiencing) another sensational MI ride. So the HALO jump was enough to wow me, but when the extraordinary bathroom fight hit the screen, that’s when I became convinced that this film was taking things to another level when it came to tension and masterful action choreography.

The rest of Fallout only exceeded my expectations. What a film. I echo the sentiments of many when I say this is one of the finest action films/spy thrillers ever made.

Concur. I saw this in 3D and it was that motorcycle/car chase in Paris that grabbed me. Hands down the best MI movie and, yes, one of the best action movies ever.

Hi I agree it was the plane jump, everything after that just got better and better. And Henry helped (he's hot ha). As an all-out action movie I don't think it gets better. I love the Bourne movies and this is right up there with them xx
