Hmmm. Looks this film got rave reviews and was a huge hit, and yet the ENTIRE FILM revolves around Tom Cruise.
NOW can the people blaming "Tom Cruise" on The Mummy failing admit they were full of crap, and ALEX KURTZMAN (who also co-wrote Mission: Impossible III, the LEAST successful Mission Impossible movie) is REALLY the one to blame?

Massive Tom Cruise Fan and Just watched Fallout today, Was truly BLOWN AWAY....easily IMO one of the best action movies ever made....
But If were being fair....outside the Mission Impossible Films, Tom Cruise truly has not been a MAJOR box office draw in a decade....
Now "Poison" Is obviously an exaggeration and IMO just not true...Cruise is In fact a draw, Its just That "Draw" is no where near it was and seems to be getting less and less...
So From 2010 on....Cruise's Box Office "draw" was consistently Under 100 Million domestically(Outside M:I films)....His Star power or "draw" was basically bringing in anything from 75 to 90 Million domestically....
over the last 3 years its gotten even worse with films only performing between to 50 to 60 Million Range....
Bottom Line....While I clearly think "poison" is not at all the right word, I think the overall point is, Hes no where near the draw he once was and as of the last decade, His Draw is nothing really to brag about with almost every NON M:I film hes made making Under 100 Million domestically....
The one good thing Cruise still has going is, hes still a very big overseas draw, Cruise's NON M:I films consistently make at least 150 to 200 Million
Wasn't the issue with The Mummy that Cruise had too much creative control which skewed the direction of the film.
With the three latest MIs, whilst obviously being focused on Ethan Hunt, Cruise didn't have the control to be able to make decisions that would tank it.
Factors to consider:
* Scientology is no longer the worst celebrity scandal on people's minds.
* It's been a bad year for QUALITY big-budget action movies, particularly with practical special effects. Think of all the crappy movies there have been with The Rock.
* "Mission Impossible" is an established franchise.
He is doing pretty well for a 56 year old actor. Not many can say the same at that age.
