They do it to try and stay young looking. Even Nicole Kidman is doing it. Google how Melanie Griffith looks today, for a real horror show.

Maybe there's more pressure on female stars than males.
I always admired Newman, Eastwood, Connery and Caine for just sort of going with the aging. Maybe a couple of those boys had a nip and a tuck here and there but they did all seem to just age normally enough.
