An actual good transformer movie?
I don't believe it.
I might actually have to see this.
You may very well be disappointed. I know I was. More of a let down than disappointment though.
shareUnderwhelmed was the word I would use for my experience. About half way though, maybe around the toilet paper scene I realized, "oh, this is all we're getting, isn't it?" The movie had a very slow start, but we finally got Bumblebee in the garage and I thought for sure it would take off after that, in much the same fashion the other Transformers films did. But it never happened. Definitely worth seeing if you're a fan of any aspect of the franchise. This movie does a lot to strengthen Bumblebee's character, which definitely boosts the series as a whole. And there's some serious F Yeah! moments in this, and some pretty funny ones too.

shareThe movie plays into a trope which i'm not even sure happened much back in the day where people would toilet paper trees (hurl rolls of toilet paper into trees, which would then get wet with the night's dew, and basically turn into paper mache. it's a god awful thing to do a proud home owner who pays taxes and takes pride in a good looking neighborhood; you can't clean that shit up.) And then they hurl eggs (another cliche that movies keep alive, which is unbelievably destructive to paint jobs of both cars and houses alike, only stout vinyl siding can repel that shit, it cost the property owner thousands and thousands of dollars and ain't funny at fucking all.) And then Bumbebee loses his shit and starts going Arcade Dancing on that car but we laugh cause it's the Mean Girl from Clueless and fuck rich people anyhow.
