Why is this film receiving so much hate?

I'm not exactly a huge fan of black metal, but the history surrounding the genre fascinates me. As weird as that may sound. I've been fascinated by black metal ever since watching the documentary Until the Light Takes Us. But what I wanna know is, how come so far, from the feedback I've read, people really seem to hate this film. Some people are saying it's not factual. Some people have referred to it as 'Lords of Hipsters'...lol. And the thing is, this film hasn't even been released in the US yet. All this feedback is coming from overseas.

Thoughts?? An explanation?

most of the hate is people stating that it doesn't focus more on the bands musical influence, but it's sitting at 68% on RT and is receiving positive reviews as well. Every movie gets hate no matter what, plain and simple

The only complaints I've heard about it so far has been regarding the American accents.

it's not the most captivating of films but its worth watching to get a sense of what went down

It got good reviews

People in the metal community bashed it though

I got my public library to order it. It was good. I liked the way it kinda poked fun at the posturing of that culture
