The scene with the General at the armory?

What was your opinion of the scene with the General at the armory?

In my opinion, Spike Lee was trying to be VERY true to his source material. In Aristophanes' "Lysistrata," there's a scene in the play where the main heroine speaks with a Scythian magistrate who's trying to dissuade her from her cause. She makes her point against the folly of war while she debases the magistrate by dressing him first as a woman and then as a corpse. The debasing of the magistrate in the play, I believe, is represented in "Chi-Raq" in the scene with the General in the armory. Mr. Lee must've thought that image (of a 'man in power' being humiliated and ridiculed) was important. Whether it works in the film or not is anybody's opinion.

All these bright lights are blinding me!!!!
