This should do really well in theaters

If it's a good movie. I'd be shocked if this kinda crept by tbh unless it got terrible reviews. A decade-long wait for a franchise with a rabid fanbase that's just as strong as it was 10 years ago. It's a mixture of excitable kids and former kids who grew up with the franchise but are now old enough to go see movies on their own. I honestly see this making the top 10 highest-grossing films of the year. Why it's going on Peacock too astounds me. It being on Peacock makes me think it may not be very good.

I suspect they know it isn't very good based on the release date. Opening 5 days before Halloween means they plan on doing good on opening weekend because of the season, but know it won't have legs.

i am so excited to see this!! I would love to see more of these video games come to the screen.

Even if it's not good, it's tracking to have a huge opening weekend so that alone will make it's money back

I just got out of a screening of it here in the UK and you predicted correctly, it’s not very good. In fact it’s boring, generic, bloodless and most disappointingly it’s just not scary at all.

The animatronics are impressive but they don’t get anywhere near the screen time you’d want, it’s a lot of the main character just dealing with his grief over the loss of his brother and it’s done in a way that’s very boring.

I honestly don’t think the filmmakers even tried with this, it really is just cashing in on the popularity of the video game, it truly is one of the worst films of the year.
