Does it get better?
Just finished series 1 which was good not amazing.
Does it get better or worse should I carry on?
Please don't spoil anything.

No. Season 1 was the best. Just fold.
shareSeasons 2 and 3 are quite good, but 4 is where the show grows a ZZ Top beard. It's well worth it.

I'll keep going then, thanks.
shareThe show doesn't age well. Season 1 is the best because at the time it was so different and a true throwback.
Season 4 is better than 3 though.
But "volume 2" is so drawn out and long.
I want to see series 4 as everyone is talking about it but I'm way behind, ill keep going I think.
shareTell me: how is something that is “so different,” meaning something that is literally unique and you might want to look up the true meaning of that word somewhere other that Wikipedia because it does NOT mean “unusual,” ALSO mean “a true throwback,” meaning “something that has been previously done”? Really. I want to know. Please explain your enthusiastic stupidity to me.
shareBit of an update, I'm glad I carried on.
Series 1 was good, series 2 and 3 are ok, but I think 4 is the best so far got 2 and a half episodes to go.
The episodes in series 4 are llooonngggg.
Did you finish it and get caught up, or did you give up? I loved season 3, and 4 the most. Really loved the season finale.
shareGot caught up a fee times staying up till 3 in the morning, but ive been on holiday so gonna try and finish it over the next few evenings.
shareCool, let me know what you think. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did..
shareWill do 👍
shareWatched it all now, loved series 4 it was the best so far in my opinion, the episodes that were 2 hours long I thought might drag on but they didn't I could of watched 3 hours worth.
Cant wait for S5.
I loved it too!!! So glad you enjoyed it. I could have watched more as well. It was so good! I can’t wait for season 5 either.. but it’s going to be awhile.
Also, where did you go on holiday?
Blackpool, only a Monday to Friday was good not been for years.
shareI’m American, but live in the UK.. but never been to Blackpool.. I haven’t heard the best of things, but I would check it out.
shareIt is what it is, British benidorm, you have to go once.
shareI went to Blackpool last year (hadn't been in over 20 years. It was awful. Benidorm is much better and funnily enough cheaper to go for 4 days.
shareWouldn't say awful, but very true it's not cheap.
shareI stayed at Norbreck Castle, trust me it was awful. We got a room with a view...of scaffolding. There were tables in the bar full of families who had ordered in Pizza, Chinese food etc..from just eat and every second word was fuck or cunt. I'm no shrinking violet but when you see 8 year olds running round shouting 'give us me chocolate back you fucking cunt', it's a bit much. Blackpool itself has become quite tired and it says something when the Pleasure Beach closed at 5pm.
Tussards was pretty good though and reasonably priced.
I get where your coming from, I must have soft spot for it.
Ps what do you expect when you nick chocolate from an 8 year old lol.
Season 1 was my favorite until "Dear Billy." I had to take an emotional break after that episode. This was the famous Max breakout episode with "Running Up That Hill" and some of Sadie Sink's best acting. Robert Englund (who's a total lock for his Saturn Award nomination). And it's one of the few episodes that Eleven isn't in. For the first time ever, Max is given the spotlight and damn, does she deliver.
If "Papa" and "The Piggyback" had been released, I still would have taken an emotional break after "The Massacre at Hawkins Lab." I know these were flashbacks, but everything felt like it was happening "now." I was so afraid that Eleven was going to die. In all three of these episodes, actually. I was somehow okay enough to watch "The Piggyback" immediately after "Papa." All three of these back-to-back episodes were emotionally charged, as was "Dear Billy."
"Hill" wasn't the only song that got my emotions going... so did "Separate Ways." Great song, great scene, even if it reminded me of Tron: Legacy. And yet it didn't feel like a simple rehash.
I rank the seasons: 4-1-2-3.
Nah. Five episodes in and it is getting on my nerves. Nothing really happens and everything is on replay. Some bland villain doing the same thing over and over again, bunch of overly excited kids sporadically having genius ideas and miraculous escapes, The Amerikanets getting beaten senseless by some super clichéd Russian dudes, while in the process making us realize what an awful dramatic actor he is, and the most annoying pothead ever. The worst part - the horror sucks mightily.
Now, I realized that it is "nostalgia fiction", but some creativity won't make Duffers' brains bleed.
Keep going you'll like season 4.
shareWell, I didn't. I admit that it got better in the last 3 episodes but the aftertaste of plastic remains. It is unbearably formulaic in every possible department. Even the villain felt like telling his backstory and I always hate when it goes like that. He went as far as to crack his neck just to show what a badass he is. I know that it is the 80s, but... not really.
shareSeason 4 is TEEEEEEEERIBLE!
