What are you most looking forward to in season 2?

We have some idea about where things may be headed, at least initially, from drops of news so far. Surely there will be many surprises along the way from there. Wondering what people are most looking forward/wanting to see in the new season.

A big one would of course be El returning and the reunions that follow from there, potentially adjusting to life without having to be hidden from everybody.

I would love to know more about the origins of El's powers and possibly more about the Upside Down world.

Seeing Mike and Eleven's reunion will be nice. Even more interesting will be El meeting her mother for the first time. If there's anyone who can reach Terry Ives it's her long lost daughter; if she comes out of her catatonic state, maybe she'll become a series regular. Obviously I'm curious about Will. Whatever he's brought back with him is likely connected to the godzilla-sized monster we saw on the trailer. Joyce will have to set aside her anger and seek help from Hawkins Lab, which should be an interesting situation all by itself.

We've got some new characters coming in. Paul Reiser as the guy from Washington assigned to clean up Brenner's mess. Sean Astin as Joyce's new love interest. And a girl named Max who Dustin and Lucas both develop crushes on (a little dissension in the ranks). We'll learn more about Hopper's deal with Hawkins Lab, and why he was leaving eggos out in the woods for El. And delve into the secrets of the Upside Down which were barely touched on in season 1. So much stuff. And our entire world potentially under threat. With only nine episodes, I don't think we'll have to worry about the pace being too slow.

Hopper's sexy dad-bod. 😍

The music (both original musical score and soundtrack), sexy Karen, and basically more and more references to rad 80s stuff. What else is there? πŸ˜„

In addition to what's already been mentioned, I am curious if the tone and look of the show will be somewhat different to the first season. Also seeing how Eleven will grow as a character or deal with what she's been through will be interesting. As for anything else, I hope some new characters get to shine, particularly Mr. Goonies himself Sean Astin. The actor who recently played the red ranger in this one movie who is also going to appear, and i find that cool.

More 80's nostalgia masquerading as originality before finally, a small hint of suspicion registers in the dim-witted minds of the viewer and the show gently fades into an embarrassing dust.

Mike and Lucas being replaced by more likable characters.

I would like to see a father/daughter type relationship emerge between Hopper and Eleven. There have been hints suggesting, this might take place. A healing arc between them would be a nice touch, bringing even more emotional depth to their characters.

I think you likely get your wish at least to some extent.

reply

Yea I think it's very likely that part of their story moves in that direction. I think it would be perfect for their characters if they bonded in that way, because they both possess what the other is missing.

Won't be watching. The first season was difficult to get through.
