Julia Louis-Dreyfus Deserves An Oscar
Julia Louis-Dreyfus is like Chaplin. She can do physical comedy, drama, pathos--and she's brilliant at all of it. She's the absolute standout in this one and deserves an Oscar. Will Ferrell was also very good, but this was her movie all the way. Shame it was released in mid-February before the world shut down for a bit.
Special kudos to Miranda Otto (as the very liberated Charlotte). Loved every scene she was in because you had no idea what she was going to say or do. And props to Volker Bertelmann for a score that perfectly captured the feeling of being in the Alps.
Food in Films: Those room service french fries looked very good. And Ferrell's "last bite" of six fries in a row was inspired.
