Is there anybody else who liked it?

I actually liked the film. Well the premise at-least. The actors did pretty well and even though the CGI was horrible and sometimes unbelievable this still had a lot of potential to do good if more funds were put into it. Well that is what I felt. It really does not deserve a 2.4 rating.

It deserves a negative 3. It was an insult to movie goers. An embarrassment for GOOD Hollywood filmmakers.
Glad I didn't spend $$ at the theater. {I knew it would be a joke}. Free on Hulu still sucks. Someone shoot this director before he makes another film.

I watched it, thinking it was the movie with Dwayne Johnson. And even that movie wasn't rated high. But this was just awful. And I stuck with it to the very end. From the horrible acting, to the horrible script, to the horrible CGI, to the overdone one thing after another, to the unbelievable time frames, to the annoying stupid conversation while supposedly life and death hang in the balance, etc. There was nothing redeemable about this movie.

When the baby hippo appears in the road and it's angry mother, then it added a new element of stupid (explained that the quake must have released all the animals). And finally, they tried to do an Aliens 2 last minute type rescue from a building roof top, about to go down and a helicopter appearing to pick up the main character survivors.

Okay, maybe I am being too tough. This was not bad for that high school student's first attempt at film-making. Unfortunately, this is not quirky enough to be camp (like Sharknado). And with the title so close to the better earthquake film, this was just a rip off.

Do yourself a favor, and avoid this one.

This movie sucked so bad it made me wanna cry for wasting 80 minutes of my life. From the fact that a tablet software is good enough to predict quakes (wonder how it worked if cell towers were down) to actually believing that you are safe and sound hovering in a chopper in the middle of a 12-pointer (air is also affected by the quake), not to mention the lamest cgi ever (hippo), I can only think of a couple of explanations for watching this: I am tired of life, or I am a masochist.

I give this a 4 out of 10 and it actually not bad CGI for The Asylum

If the science/cgi is not very good in a film but the storyline and characters are good, I like the film. I really liked this film with a good storyline and characters you can care about.
