This was dull and just barely watchable - but the sort of thing that seems like it might lead to superior sequels. That other thing was almost painful and as close to a complete waste of time as I could imagine.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. This film wasn't BAD, and it at least respected the films that came before it, but man it bored me.
